Sweet and Sour Spear Ribs




Ø  3 pounds spare ribs, cut into serving pieces

Ø  3 tablespoons brown sugar

Ø  2 tablespoons cornstarch

Ø  ¼ cup vinegar

Ø  ½ cup ketchup

Ø  1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple

Ø  1 tablespoon soy sauce




1.      Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, vinegar, ketchup, pineapple, and soy sauce.

2.      Cook over medium heat until slightly thickened. Arrange a layer of spareribs in a roasting pan.

3.      Cover with half of the pineapple mixture; repeat layers.

4.      Cover with foil and bake at 350° for 2 hours.
